Ministering to Students at Camp Emmanuel 🪵🔥
My wife, Shepard, and I were honored to be invited to lead worship at Camp Emmanuel on the Outer Banks for their high school camp week. I was also invited to speak at one of the evening sessions, and we led two breakout classes with a small group.
This was a full-circle moment for us because the pastor of the church that hosts Camp Emmanuel, Scott Hobbs, was the worship leader for our youth camp when we were teens (yes, this camp)!
The 40-50 high school students at Camp Emmanuel were energetic and hungry for God’s presence. Here’s a glimpse of our wild worship times:
Our kids were also able to come with us — two as campers and two who tagged along with us. It was an amazing and exhausting week!
Summer at The Greenhouse ⛪
Our local church plant and prayer room here in Farmville, NC, The Greenhouse, is going strong over the summer.
Our Sunday services continue at our home. However, we hope to move into a slightly larger space at another church facility by the end of the summer. Please pray that if it’s God’s will, the door will open.
We are hosting our prayer room on Monday nights over the summer and plan to expand our hours this fall. We also have multiple training sessions planned for our prayer room volunteers.
On September 24-26, we are planning to combine our annual Back to Eden festival with Awaken the Dawn’s nationwide Come to the Table initiative. In May, I attended Awaken the Dawn’s summit in Charlotte, and their founder, David Bradshaw, will be visiting the Greenhouse for a special worship night in August. We are excited about this collaboration!
Rooted Homeschool Co-Op🌱
Our Rooted Homeschool Co-Op, led by my wife, Shepard, finished its spring semester at the end of May. I personally helped lead the morning chapel and taught a group guitar class. This fall, Rooted is combining with Vineyard Preschool in Greenville for a new season of ministering to homeschoolers in the area. Learn more here.
